Mr.Echo Hu, a technological entrepreneur, a master of precision instrument from South China University of Technology, a senior engineer of measurement control and instrumentation of the China Instrument and Meter Association.

Long way to learn

Echo Hu was born in an ordinary family in Zhejiang Province. He studied very hard and always got No.1 since he was a child.Then he was admitted to the second largest University in Zhejiang Province.Zhejiang University of Technology School of Mechanical Engineering.During the university, he minored in electronic major, he won so many times in science&technology competitions. In the end, he was recommended to South China University of Technology in precision instruments major to get master degree under the tutelage of the famous Professor Dr. Liu.

Connect with Rogowski coil

  Under the rigorous study of Professor Dr.Liu,Echo Hu not only made great progress in professional knowledge, but also began to join in ABB Rogowski coil research project which research Rogowski coil principles, simulation modeling, production technology, performance indicators and detection methods.He achieved significant research results, published many papers and applied for many patents in the end.

  In 2008,he entered the most authoritative research institute in the field of low-voltage electrical appliances in China-Shanghai Electrical Apparatus Research Institute after graduation.mainly engaged in current detection technology and equipment research work. During the period, he worked with different Rogowski coil brand which is from the United Kingdom, the United States and Japan, the incredible price deeply shook his heart.

Blue wisp on the road, to the forest

In 2009, Echo Hu founded SHANGHAI PINYAN M&C TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD.He was very hard to start his own business without no one help in Rogowski coil development which is an absolute blank field.

There are so many famous Rogowski brand in China,like FLUKE,LEM,ALGODUE,HIOKO,PEM.But all of them were used to laboratory instrument.Due to incredible price,bad replacement,no meter support directly, they can not be widely used in the power industry.

Echo Hu led MEATROL to in-depth study of the inherent mathematical principles of Rogowski coils and to broaden the technical parameters of Rogowski coils as much as possible to adapt to the simultaneous response of power frequency and high frequency.On the other hand,they developed an integrator with accurate output through simulation.Therefore, MEATROL technical team developed a set of process standards for changing coil parameters through long-term exploration and analyzed the parameter characteristics of Rogowski coils.Including the selection of the center material, the improvement of the winding process, the formulation of the winding density, the treatment of the shielding layer, the transmission characteristics of the wire size and so on.

①In-depth research and development of different Rogowski coils to make their performance reach international standards and replace imports;

②Solve the problem of replacement, scale production, reduce costs, and extend the application fields limited to high-end instruments to large electrical project applications;

③Develop the integrator and meter which could directly connect Rogowski coil to open up the application barrier;

④ Creatively submit that Rogowski coil with multi-channel integrator to fill the gap of the original power transmission and distribution fault current detection;

⑤Develop a rigid Rogowski coil, the sensitivity is 3 times more than flexible coil which could measure down to 50mA;

⑥Develop a special integrator chip suitable for Rogowski coils, greatly reducing the application threshold.
